Yes or No: TESOL/TEFL Certification

Though I haven’t had much of an opportunity to get into it (read: this is only my second post), I’m currently working on ways to budget for this trip of mine. Ideally, I’d like to do things like WWOOF or CouchSurf to help cut costs. If I could actually make money that would be grand too!

On that note, today’s daily deal on Chicago-based site, YouSwoop.com, is roughly 80% off for an online course to become TESOL/TEFL certified (i.e. certified to teach English as a second language). Oh the places I could go with that…

I have 14 hours and some odd minutes (and 79 swoops) left to ponder. To spend $79 or not to spend $79, that is the question.

Actually, the real question is: Would I be able to earn back my $79 (and then some) if I did do this? Luckily for me, my brother spent a summer in Asia doing just this, maybe I can pick his brain!
